GRIDLIFE South: Road Atlanta

GRIDLIFE never fails to deliver a killer event and a totally unique atmosphere to the race track. Only the second year bringing the festival to the south at the iconic Road Atlanta, there was notable increase in driver, spectator, and vendor attendance over the three day weekend. Its awesome to witness the event and the community grow, and I am already looking forward to seeing what GRIDLIFE brings to the table in 2018.

In part, Road Atlanta could be considered my "home" track. Over the years, I have turned the more laps around the 12 turn, 2.5 mile circuit gracing the hills of Braselton, Georgia, than I have at any other racetrack. Every time I have the chance to pilot the #916 Enjuku Racing LS350z around Road Atlanta, I always have my mind set on beating my personal record.

After a season plagued with brake issues, seat time and development are key. The weekend prior to GRIDLIFE South, I took the LS350z out to Virginia International Raceway to test out the new custom StopTech Trophy Brake Kit. The test weekend went by with minimal issues, leaving me with a little more piece of mind heading to the terribly unforgiving circuit in Georgia a few days later.

The weekend went over relatively smoothly, but the brakes continued to leave a lot of time on the table as we worked to dial them in. After having a more experienced driver, Tony Fuentes turn a few laps in the car, we determined a master cylinder change would be a necessity. While I was not able to beat my personal best, we did learn a lot about the car. We were also featured on PowerNation TV's hour long Special on Gridlife, which airs on CBS Sports December 21st 2017 at 7pm EST!
